Coastal Combat Desaru Coast 2026 delivers an adrenaline-filled showdown The grand finale of Coastal Combat Desaru Coast 2026 took place on 24 January 2026 at Desaru Coast Riverside, kicking off at 8:00 PM with electrifying energy. The highlight of the night featured international-level professional Muay Thai bouts, the official launch of Coastal Combat 2026, and a special appearance by Shuk Sahar and Jimin Kim that captivated the crowd. The opening ceremony was officiated by YB Dato’ On bin Jaabar @ Jaafar, Deputy State Secretary of Johor (Sports, Youth & Volunteers). UDA NIGHT RUN 2026 3 January 2026 – For the very first time, Angsana Johor Bahru Mall successfully organized a 5km Fun Run, attracting 2,000 participants and marking the kickoff event for the Visit Johor Year 2026 celebration. The event was graced by distinguished guests including Tourism Johor Director, Mohammad Nazrul bin Abd Rahim; Tourism Malaysia Southern Region Deputy Director, Awang Shawal Awang Sulaiman; Muhammad Ismail Dasuki, COO of UDA Land South Sdn. Bhd.; Mohd Nazri Jamiran, Senior Vice President of Investment and Property Management at UDA Holdings Berhad; Mohamad Zulkarnain Ismail, Johor State Director of Bank Simpanan Nasional; Imran Salleh, COO of UDA Angsana Sdn. Bhd.; Jeffri bin Munir, COO of Majestic Johor; and ASP Syed Muhammad Hanafi bin Syed Ahmad from the Johor Bahru North District Police Headquarters, representing the Acting District Police Chief. The flag-off began with a convoy led by Johor Public Transport Corporation buses, followed by taxis and then the runners. Prior to the run, participants took part in a mass warm-up session. Along the route, vibrant side activities including cultural dance performances at each checkpoint added to the festive atmosphere. The Launch of Visit Johor Year 2026 The Launch of Visit Johor Year 2026 was held in grand style on 12 December 2025 at Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru, officially marking the commencement of the Visit Johor 2026 campaign, which symbolises the Johor State Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the state’s tourism brand at both regional and international levels. This prestigious event was graced by YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, Menteri Besar of Johor, and featured a wide range of exciting programmes showcasing the uniqueness of Johor, including cultural heritage, performing arts, local gastronomy, and interactive exhibitions by various districts highlighting the state’s tourism attractions, customs, and cultural diversity. One of the most captivating highlights and the climax of the event was the Visit Johor 2026 drone show, which mesmerised thousands of visitors by illuminating the Johor Bahru skyline with creative and high-impact visuals, symbolising Johor’s aspirations to become a world-class tourism destination. The Zapin Mehlah Johor performance, featuring 4,041 dancers, successfully entered the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR), elevating Johor’s traditional heritage arts to a proud new level and demonstrating the strength of the state’s cultural identity. The launch was further enlivened by performances from popular local artistes, cultural showcases by Yayasan Warisan Johor and Istana Budaya, as well as various side activities, making the event an important platform to stimulate the tourism sector and generate positive socio-economic impact for the local community. The welcome ceremony at Senai International Airport was officiated by the Honourable Dato’ Haji Mohd Jafni bin Md Shukor, Chairman of the Johor State Housing and Local Government Committee.
