The vibrant return of the 28th International Kite Festival The 28th International Kite Festival, held at Bukit Layang-Layang, unfolded in a colourful and lively atmosphere as thousands of visitors flocked to the venue from early morning. The strong turnout from people of all ages reflected the excitement for this iconic festival, which continues to be highly anticipated every year. A wide range of engaging activities were featured throughout the festival, including international kite displays, interactive family-friendly activities, exhibition booths, and retail stalls—creating a cheerful and welcoming environment for all visitors. Also present was Mohammad Nazrul bin Abd Rahim, Director of Tourism Johor, who spent time enjoying the festival with his family. He also visited the Johor Pavilion to explore tourism offerings and promotional showcases of Johor’s products. One of the highlights of the festival was when he flew the Visit Johor mascots, Cuping and Juicy, further enlivening the atmosphere and strengthening the promotion of the Visit Johor Year 2026, especially among children and families. Opening of Majestic Johor Festival 2026 The Majestic Johor Festival x Gong Xi Fiesta officially kicked off on 31 January 2026, with Batu Pahat district opening the curtain for the Majestic Johor Festival 2026. The ceremony began with the arrival of invited guests, followed by the حضور of Tuan Haji Mohd Norman bin Haji Noh, President of the Yong Peng District Council; YB Datuk Haji Samsolbari bin Haji Jamali, Deputy Speaker of the Johor State Legislative Assembly and Semarang State Assemblyman; as well as Mohammad Nazrul bin Abd Rahim, Director of Tourism Johor. The program continued with the singing of the Bangsa Johor and Negaraku, followed by a doa recital and a welcoming speech by YB Datuk Haji Samsolbari bin Haji Jamali. UDA NIGHT RUN 2026 3 January 2026 – For the very first time, Angsana Johor Bahru Mall successfully organized a 5km Fun Run, attracting 2,000 participants and marking the kickoff event for the Visit Johor Year 2026 celebration. The event was graced by distinguished guests including Tourism Johor Director, Mohammad Nazrul bin Abd Rahim; Tourism Malaysia Southern Region Deputy Director, Awang Shawal Awang Sulaiman; Muhammad Ismail Dasuki, COO of UDA Land South Sdn. Bhd.; Mohd Nazri Jamiran, Senior Vice President of Investment and Property Management at UDA Holdings Berhad; Mohamad Zulkarnain Ismail, Johor State Director of Bank Simpanan Nasional; Imran Salleh, COO of UDA Angsana Sdn. Bhd.; Jeffri bin Munir, COO of Majestic Johor; and ASP Syed Muhammad Hanafi bin Syed Ahmad from the Johor Bahru North District Police Headquarters, representing the Acting District Police Chief. The flag-off began with a convoy led by Johor Public Transport Corporation buses, followed by taxis and then the runners. Prior to the run, participants took part in a mass warm-up session. Along the route, vibrant side activities including cultural dance performances at each checkpoint added to the festive atmosphere.
