Tanjung Balau Fishermen Museum, situated along the scenic beachfront of Tanjung Balau in Kota Tinggi, Johor, is Malaysia’s sole museum dedicated to the traditional fishing community. Established in 1992, near a former fishing village, the museum offers a comprehensive look into the lives of local fishermen. Its exhibits include authentic fishing boats, nets, boat models, dioramas, and multimedia displays that immerse visitors in the maritime heritage of the region. In 2005, the museum expanded to feature three new galleries; the Geological Gallery, the Desaru Ship Gallery and the Marine Safety Gallery, enhancing its educational offerings.
