Muzium Diraja Sultan Abu Bakar terletak di Istana Besar. Pada tahun 1864, muzium ini telah dibina khas atas titah perkenan Bapa Johor Moden, Duli Yang Maha Mulia, Sultan Abu Bakar dan menjadi keajaiban seni bina apabila siap pada tahun 1866.<\/p>\n
Istana Besar itu dibina menggabungkan beberapa idea kreatif Sultan dalam senibina. Ia dibina dengan gaya Renaissance, dibina oleh artisan tempatan di bawah seliaan juru bina Eropah.<\/p>\n
Pada awal tahun 1990-an, pemerintah Johor yang memerintah ketika itu, Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Iskandar berhasrat agar orang ramai diberi peluang untuk melihat koleksi Diraja dalam suasana muzium yang sempurna. Sultan Abu Bakar Royal Museum\u00a0is located in the Istana Besar or Grand Palace. In 1864, the museum was specially commissioned by the Father of Modern Johor, His Royal Highness, Sultan Abu Bakar and became an architectual wonder when it completed in 1866. The Grand Palace was built incorporated some of the Sultan\u2019s creative ideas in its architecture. In the early 1990, Johor\u2019s present ruler, His Majesty Sultan Iskandar decides that the public should be given the opportunity to view the Royal Family\u2019s collection in a proper museum setting.
