In 2013, Malaysia set its sights on the promise of 21st-century education. It was a bold vision, yet for many educators, the road proved far from smooth. The attempt to embrace this new approach was often met with isolation, inadequate support, and the quiet weight of feeling unseen. But we refused to accept that this would be the end of the story.
We made a choice: if the true essence of learning was fading, we would reignite it ourselves. We reached beyond our shores, listening, learning, and drawing wisdom from institutions around the world. Through heartfelt discussions, we unearthed timeless truths about what education is meant to be. In the midst of our search, one phrase shone like a beacon: “Education is life impacts life.” It captured everything we longed for that education is not merely about knowledge, but about transforming hearts, shaping character, and inspiring a lifetime of purpose.
Our journey to redefine education was like navigating through a dense fog. At times, we stumbled. We faced doubts. We endured setbacks. But we never gave up. Step by step, the fog began to lift. The ideals we once thought too distant to touch began to draw near. We refined our systems. We built plans that matched our vision. And with each passing day, we realised what we had hoped for was not only possible, but within our grasp.
Along the way, we found our compass: The LUCA Belief or Purpose.
L – Love the Truth as our unshakable core.
U – Unite in uniqueness, embracing every person’s God-given strengths.
C – Cultivate our core competencies, sharpening what we are called to do well.
A – Adapt with courage, allowing resilience to carry us through every challenge.
These beliefs are not just words on paper. They are the heartbeat that drives us forward. With one heart and one mind, we labour on this soil, sowing seeds of hope, truth, and transformation. And we believe that one day, these seeds will blossom, the fruits will ripen, and the ideals we have fought for will stand in full bloom bringing life that impacts life for generations to come.
